------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Nov 22 02:20:22 -0800 2006 ------- Oliver, changes scp2 to include the dll's without the manifest is useless. But, I really really don't think there is a problem, it would seem the steps I am doing are just a manually mangled version of the step described [*] see http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms235291(VS.80).aspx http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa985617(VS.80).aspx also more info http://www.codeproject.com/cpp/vcredists_x86.asp ( alternatives to deployment ) [*] Of course integrating the msm(s) and doing all of this somehow via the installer would be a preferable solution. But.... that is a) outside my puny window skills :-) b) that step will happen anyway whenever the default compiler is changed to vc8 ( the non-express ) version c) this a cheap and non-nasty hack to allow contributors to get up and going and produce a useable installsets an alternitive is to just point people to the vcredist exe ( link on one of those pages above) but thats a bit of an unecessary extra step In fact all that vcredist.exe does is create the WinSxS/x86_Microsoft.CRTxxxxxx directory that the above manifest was 'lifted' from. Ok, I guess it probably does some registry magic as well.... I fail to see a problem ps heheh despite recent rumours I am not trying to 'inject MS patent infringing code' --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
