If you select a random file in the file explorer and ask to open it with say
acrobat reader (via the contextual menu, even if it's not a pdf-related file)
windows will
1. have acrobat reader open this file (which obviously will fail if acrobat does
not know how to open it)
2. add acrobat reader as an option for these kinds of files in "open with"

If you do the same for an office file and select OO.o in the windows list of
applications
1. it will complain it can not find OO.o
2. it will open a search windows
3. it won't add OO.o as an "open with" option to office files

So somehow the OO.o installer does not register OO.o in window in a way that
permits its use through "open with", while installers of other apps do it
properly
