------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Nov 1 17:23:30 +0000 2007 ------- Carried out suggestions with no joy: 1. renamed user directory & startup failed as before. 2. Removed OOo components with apt-get. 3. Downloaded your suggested openoffice binary package, unzipped, installed as root with ./setup and noted success. package in /opt directory (all defaults accepted). 4. Same failure results continue as previously described, of course now without any accompanying graphical startup screen. The cut-and-paste from a user terminal [attempted] startup is as follows: ---- [EMAIL PROTECTED] program]$ openoffice.org2.3 -writer CR Error(DellDim8100:9749): Need to know glStub environment variable ---- So will contact PCLinuxOS folks tonight, believing the latest kernel update may be contributing - but this did happen briefly B4 latest kernel chg...? What is the environmental variable glStub ? - SET does not list it - doesn't exist. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
