------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Nov 15 14:10:49 +0000 2007 ------- I just don't understand it. I know that there are probably thousands of bugs the should be fixed, but you are just missing the point. The scenario is this: The user is typing. He notices that he has just written something that he does not wish to lose (because of power failure, for example). So he quickly presses Ctr+S and just goes along typing, in order to keep his chain of thought. If Writer or Impress could at least BUFFER his activities while it is saving the document, it would be a blessing. The way it is now, the user has to chose: either risk losing his or her work or risk losing his or her chain of thought. Maybe delay the issue or give it a lower priority. I just don't agree that it would "benefit only in a very limited number of cases". Every single user of OO would benefit from it. About the amount of work, is it really that hard to implement some kind of buffering of events while the document is being saved? If we can not get the full feature of background saving, we could strive for at least not having to stop and wait for the file save every couple lines of text. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
