Dictionaries for where those forms are not appropriate should contain the localised equivalent. Note: while capitalised abbreviations are not spell-checked in OpenOffice, the proper form should be in the dictionary for offering as a suggestion or even as an auto-correct if Odf, odf etc. are used.
