2007 -------
I initially experienced this problem with the debian package. To ensure it isn't
a debian issue, I removed the debian openoffice.org install and downloaded the
openoffice.org development snapshot. The same problem occurs with the
openoffice.org version (2.3.1, the SRC680_m239_native_packed-2_en-US.9242
package)

Steps to reproduce:

1. execute ooffice
2. when document recovery window pops up, it lists a single file which
openoffice perceives is in need of recovery:
church-minutes-2007-1108-with-letterhead.odt
3. press the 'start recovery' button
4. document recovery window indicates "Recovery of your documents was finished"
5. press the 'Finish' button
6. yep, there's the document in a openoffice.org writer window, with the view
position scrolled to the end of the document
7. note: I can do other stuff at this point, such as access the 'help' pull-down
and pop up the 'about openoffice.org' window
8. pull the scroll button at edge of window up toward the top
9. openoffice.org "crashes" and document recovery window appears indicating "Due
to an unexpected error, OpenOffice.org crashed. All the files you were..."

Other notes:

- possibly related to

                - I tried the approach described in issue report but nothing is
listed under
'Graphics' (although, I am fairly sure there is a graphic in the document...)
