An attempt of changing vcl might have an unexpected affect on the other modules. That could be done as a long- term solution led by the vcl team. I have started to devise a way of separately treating with height (=accent + decent) and leading. The solution would be also need to solve other phenomena: e.g. Current Writer is less tolerant than Word regarding a threshold of font size fit in a grid. Current Writer tends to easily abandon keeping a single line and consequently occupy two lines for one character when gradually increasing the size of font.
