The following problem has been found in the build “edgy-jdk-2474-notes2”.

If a note is inserted and the Notes Side Pane is not shown at the moment, then
the Notes Side Pane will be opened. Unfortunately, if the inserted Note refers
to a selection of text, then the Notes Side Pane will not be opend, but the Note
get's created anyway (but hidden).

Steps to reproduce:
1.Create a document and enter some text; insert a Note and enter some text
2.Toggle visibility of Notes Side Pane to off (so the Note Side Pane is not
shown)
3.Select some text which was created in step 1
4.Insert new Note

Expected behavior: The Note Side Pane will be shown and the new Note will be
created.

Current behavior: Nothing happens (from the user's point of view). Nevertheless,
a new Note has been created. This can be checked if the Notes Side Pane is
manually shown.
