Further investigation reveals the problem to be specific to moving the template
location from the default. Try:
Tools->Options->Paths, Templates
Add a new folder to the path, set it as default, delete the default folder,
leaving just the new folder as the only template folder. Click OK.
Instead of changing to (say) c:\documents\templates, the template path now
changes to ;c:\documents\templates with a leading semicolon. With this leading
semicolon comes a delay in opening the templates dialog.
This can be remedied by adding another folder to the path so it becomes (say)
c:\empty;c:\documents\templates. If you remove the c:\empty, the leading
semicolon comes back and the delay in opening the template dialog with it.
Suspect OO is seeing the semicolon and looking for folder "" for templates,
possibly searching large parts of hard drive and causing the delay.
