There should be a warning at least, but I checked with "2.4.0 Multilingual
German version WIN XP: [680m12(Build9286)]" and can NOT confirm the reported
effect. This does not mean that the problem does not happen, I installed the
current Java version, then I uninstalled and reinstalled 2.4.0, and the latest
Java version still was active, no downgrade from 1.6.0_05-b13 to 1.6.0_04-b12.
Of course, that is not the normal way of installation.
