He also should know how to write dependencies... So +one more field is not a problem in my opinion. Moreover, if we use makefile.mk with only target "check" - there's no even need to change 'nmake' field. About patches: I think we should first agree about strategy. What do we want to see at the end? Do you want to run tests after the project is built or (case of ring deps) - you might want to run them after the office is built?
