------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri Apr 4 14:18:58 +0000 2008 ------- Just for the record my host.conf file is "order hosts,bind" and when I used the term "standard" I meant I have not changed anything, so I would suggest that other people will experience the same problem. There are many articles about Openoffice being slow to start, so I, and probably others, assumed that the slow start up time was normal. It took me two years to discover that Openoffice can start quickly. I know the method Ooo uses is "correct", but it might be worth considering changing it, even if it simply showed an error message, to encourage more users.
