Further to the valid comment by huw (my apologies for my newcomer's mistake) I
would like to point to the second part of my entry, i.e. the fact that the
behaviour changes after export to .xls format and successive re-import. Already
the exported file behaves as I expected, when opened with MS Excel. So there may
still be an issue here, but related to the conversion to .xls.
