I see the effect in "TableMergeTest2.doc" and "TableMergeTest2.doc", but I
checked with "2.4.0 Multilingual version German UI WIN XP: [680m12(Build9286)]"
and "TableMergeTest1.odt" and can NOT confirm the reported effect.
I checked with "3.0.0 Beta Multilingual version English UI WIN XP: [300m2
(Build9301)]" and and also can NOT confirm the reported effect.

I doubt that you tested with all Platforms and all OS, pls. specify!
What localization of OOo did you use and from what source?
