I checked with "2.4.0 Multilingual version German UI WIN XP:
[680m12(Build9286)]" and can confirm the reported effect from comments from
toddandmargo Sat Jun 7 22:55:32.

In l comments from rainerbielefeld Sat Jun 7 10:51:54 I only thought that I was
not able to reproduce the problem, because in my own test the tables LOOKED fine
(different from the look in "TableMergeTest2.doc"). But the 'delete column test'
shows that the tables in the .doc documents were merged also in my early test
documents.

Also reproducible with "1.1.4 (German) WIN XP: [645m52 (Build 8824)]" and "3.0.0
Beta Multilingual version English UI WIN XP: [300m2 (Build9301)]".

I did several tests for tables with or without heading, inserted from menu or
from insert icon, always the same problem as reported.

Unfortunately, this is a DUP of the WONTFIX Issue 82856, pls. read comments from
mru Tue Oct 23 13:59:19 there.

May be someone can find an ENHENCEMENT concerning the question how to improve
the table export considering how WORD handles adjoining tables?
