The character styles do not inherit from the default paragraph style. Everything
that you see in the character styles dialogs are 'application defaults' except
those settings that are actually set in the style.
Most of these defaults cannot be influenced in the user interface. Only font
name/size and languages can be set with the related options dialogs.
As the settings are not inherited from the default paragraph style there's no
reason why the settings of the default paragraph style should be shown.
