I played around with this a little more this morning. Still not sure where the
problem is. I'm using Ubuntu 8.04. I had no previous developer snapshot
installed prior to my attempt to install m23, though I do have the 2.4.1 version
installed provided by Canonical for Ubuntu 8.04.
When double-clicking on one of the previously listed .deb packages, gdebi-gtk
launches as per the attached screenshot "gdebi_results_m23.png"
Here's the output from dpkg -I for the package:

errors:

However, upon later querying the package, it still reports that it is not
installed:

Use dpkg --info (= dpkg-deb --info) to examine archive files,
and dpkg --contents (= dpkg-deb --contents) to list their contents.
