I installed OOo-dev 3.0.0 (Build 8329).
This too seemed flakey when it came to date formatting.
Quit often, but not always, the format simply wouldn't change even though I've
double clicked on it and set it to a different format.
Sometimes it would apply, and then if saved, would still be there when reloaded.
Very confusing and intermittent :-(
