I don't think we need this enhancement for following reasons:
1) Notes are objects "quite" like others.
When you delete a sentence containing a frame, a formula, a picture... anchored
to character, those objects are deleted as well: no warning, no new positioning.
2) Notes are context dependent.
In most of the cases, notes live from the context they are inserted in. How many
time do the notes consist in "Mike: Are you sure about that?", "We could find a
better formulation for the final version" or "See 'Pygmalion's Memories' p.
53-57 in 'My Life with Ottifanten'".
If you move the anchor while deleting the text, the note has no meaning at all.
3) Word doesn't warn or move when deleting.
I know, it's not a real argument but this may simply mean that they didn't do it
because of 1) and 2) :)
The only thing that seems pertinent is: OOo can only - by now - anchor notes to
1 character position and not to an area (like Word) which makes it difficult for
the user to modify a text without deleting the note anchor. He needs literally
to "work around" the anchor.
But AFAIK, we already have this problem on track...
@Notes Team: what do you think?
