May be we should split this issue into new ones for every language. I really don't think this is a good solution. We are translating, not creating new interpretations for each language. I feel that the problem is in the English usage: Index and Tables > Index and Tables... is redundant. But I understand why it is that way, since there are about 5 types of indexes and tables possible. I think a better solution is to change the English and then retranslate the other langs.
