This happens only on windows with system file dialoges enabled.

For all file types that have more than one file extension as filter criteria the
save dialog produces invalid filenames if "Auto extension" is enabled. Such file
types exist only in "Export" mode - not in "Save as"

As example:
- create (or open )a writer document
- go to file - export
- enable "Auto Extension"
- choose file type "XHTML"
-> both extensions (".html;*.xhtml") will be added to the file name

- remove the extension from the filename (e.g. enter "myfile" as file name)
- klick "Save"
-> Error message about invalid file name is displayed
