------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Oct 29 02:18:12 +0000 2008 ------- What I was doing: Editing a text file saved as .doc. I inserted a note in a FOOTNOTE (using the new Insert > Note feature). The note shows up in the margin (and looks very nice). The problem: If I close the document and reopen it in MS Word, the note will have disappeared completely. (This is a big compatibility issue because my colleagues using Word can't read all the notes I insert in OOo.) NB: This problem ONLY occurs with notes inserted into footnotes. If I insert a note in the main text of a .doc document, it WILL be displayed correctly when I open the document in Word.
