The OO.org 3.0 SDK creates the links correct and this 3.0 SDK creates a folder
~/openoffice.org3.0_sdk/<hostname>/ where the configured setsdkenv* scripts are
stored.
The links are necessary for building extensions, client apps only. They are
created in the output directory that can be configured by the user.
To your problems:
- if you have an SDK that creates an OpenOffice.org2.0_SDK you have a wrong SDK.
- the second concern is valid and a good idea. Please submit an RFE for it.
