err, norry, by last comment got corrupted.

Just that the distributons have to distribute pre-configured stuff like that.
Think of packages building extensions (voikko) which must be bbuilt 
automatically.

This apperantly is not true in all cases. Incidentially, a voikko 3.0 build
creates its build dir *AND* that toplevel dir.

As said before, in 2.4.1 we had the s.o symlinks installed, too.
