------- Additional comments from [email protected] Sat Jan 10 15:39:08 +0000 2009 ------- I wanted to name a cell in a spreadsheet that contains a constant that I am using by changing the name in the name box. I tried to name it what I usually would, but it kept going to another cell or it wouldn’t rename the cell. Finally, I realized that the cell that it kept going to was in the same relative location to the spreadsheet I was working in as another variable from a different spreadsheet that has the same name. There is no reason that I can think of for this behavior. A person should be able to use the same variable name in any spreadsheet without having to have the variable always in the same location. The variable in one spreadsheet has nothing to do with the other. As it turned out, the spreadsheet named the wrong cell. I couldn’t undo the name change. I tried deleting the variable name and found it wouldn’t go away. The only way I could get rid of it was to close the program without saving. If there is a dialog box (outside of the drop-down menu for the name box) that shows a list of named cells/ranges in the spreadsheet so that you can organize them *for that spreadsheet* I cannot find it. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
