When I started using OOo 2.0 on my Win XP Pro PCs three years ago I:

-- set up a custom dictionary
-- moved it to a shared directory to make it (and documents relying on it)
accessible from all the PCs on my network
-- then added the shared directory to the entry for:
Tools > Options > OpenOffice.org > Paths > Custom Dictionaries

However from OOo 2.4 onwards (tried 2.4 and 3) it appears that the Custom
Dictionaries path setting has been removed. In other words I have to put my
custom dictionary in the default local directory.

Obviously this makes it much more inconvenient to share OOo documents on a
network and I am wondering...

1) Why was the ability to specify custom dictionary directories (via the GUI)
removed? (Tools > Options > OpenOffice.org > Paths > Custom Dictionaries)

2) Are there any plans to reinstate the ability to specify custom dictionary
directories from within the OOo GUI? I certainly would appreciate this very
much.

3) In the meantime, is there a simple way to make OOo 3 use my existing custom
dictionary in addition to the other installed dictionaries? (eg by changing
config files / registry, adding an extension...)
Note my custom dictionary was created in OOo 2.0 and needs to be stored outside
of the OOo directory structure so that I can share it with other PCs (my
documents are going to be moved to a NAS server soon).

Note - I use Win XP Pro SP2 logged in as Adminstrator.

PS - This is the first time I have posted an issue and I have tried my best to
adhere to the guidelines - searched to see if a similar issue has already been
raised, tried to be as clear as possible in my explanation of the issue, etc. I
apologies in advance though in case I have posted the issue incorrectly!
