The calc version number I have is 1:2.4.1-1ubuntu2.1
When I copy a cell then immediately edit it with no intervening operation, calc
hangs using 90% or more of the cpu. This bug is not universal, I could not
reproduce it an an arbitrary file but it regularly occurs in the file I use
most!
1. CTRL-C to copy the contents of an integer cell
2. CTRL-V to paste it into an empty cell
3. Click after the copied integer using the edit window to the right of "f(x)
<SIGMA> =" (near top of the sheet)
4. Backspace to remove one digit
5. Type in a new digit
6. Hit <Return>
7. Window is frozen

I have had this bug for around a year but mostly avoid it by carefully not doing
the above. Bug is avoided if ANY other operation (e.g. highlight another cell)
is done between 2 & 3 (in this case the pasted cell has to be highlighted a
second time before the edit, which then succeeds without error.
I have created a much abbreviated copy of my original file to demonstrate the
bug. Cell D29 contains 103270. On copying this to D30 and replacing the final 0
by 1 as detailed above, calc hangs. It does not hang if I select the final 0
actually WITHIN cell D30 (not using the top edit window) and replace it with 1.
Since this is my first bug report and I cannot see where on this form to attach
the calc file, I may have to send the file in another message.
There appears to be some similarity between this bug and that reported as 94062
