Thanks kohei for attending to this problem. Following your comments I have now
updated to Ubuntu Intrepid and to Openoffice 3.0 which will be a benefit to my
regular calc usage.
My version numbers are now openoffice.org-core 1:3.0.1-1ubuntu 1intrepid 1
The hanging bug is fixed but there remains a slightly odd behaviour.
In Test3.ods
1. CTRL-C on A1
2. CTRL-V in A2
3. In the edit window, click and backspace to remove the 4
4. Type 5
5. Hit <return>
6. Cell A2 is highlighted and <return> does not cause movement to the next cell
- even if repeated several times.

Clicking anywhere else does shift the highlight from A2, and there is no hanging
as with version 2.4 so it is a minor inconvenience only.
If the edit in 3. is done within the cell itself, rather than in the edit
window, the highlight does in fact move to the next cell on hitting <return>

Tony
