How to do: (1) File > Open (2) Goto the location of the file and click on the file name. (3) Open the list "file type". (4) Select type "Microsoft Excel 2003 XML (*.xml)". (5) Click on Open button. The file opens directly in Calc. You get one empty sheet labeled "test", the title bar shows the file name. Do you have opened it in this way? Do you use an original OOo or do you use a version which you have got from somewhere else, for example from you Linux distributor?
