I checked with "Ooo 3.1.0 WIN XP multilingual version German UI activated
[OOO310m11 (Build 9399)]" and can NOT confirm the reported problem.
I did the same test with "PRFILE.ods" and "PRFILEX.ods" from Issue 84689:
1. Open Document
2. <cntrl>+<a> to mark all contents
3. Menu 'Data -> Sort -> Column "A" Increasing
expected: sort within app. 5 seconds
actual: as expected
4. Menu 'Data -> Sort -> Column "A" Decreasing
expected: sort within app. 5 seconds
actual: as expected
5. Menu 'Data -> Sort -> Column "W" Increasing
expected: sort within app. 5 seconds
actual: as expected
6. Menu 'Data -> Sort -> Column "W" Decreasing
expected: sort within app. 5 seconds
actual: as expected
So I can't see any bug. An not P1
