------- Additional comments from [email protected] Wed Jul 8 15:20:30 +0000 2009 ------- Since OO3.1 finally supports outline numbering in custom paragraphs the obvious thing to do is to make things like an appendix numbering according to outline levels so that Apppendix headings work like regular headings. Unfortunately the level numbering in the paragraph format is ignored. I can only set the levels by manually right clicking and then tell OO to shift the Appendix paragraph down one level. To reproduce: Start new writer doc Create custom numbering via list styles (call it Appendix). Set it to outline Numbered (the actual numbering seems to be irrelevant, but I've set level one to uppercase alphabetic and the rest to numeric and showing all sublevels). Create Appendix paragraphs for the levels (Appendix1 - Appendix3, each corresponding to the outline level 1 - 3). Use the Appendix number format created previously. Enter a few Appendix Headings in the text. No matter which Appendix paragraph format is used, they all have a level one numbering instead of the numbering that corresponds to the outline level set in the paragraph definition.
