Hello,
   Installing the latest OpenOffice package
[email protected],5.11-0.111:20090518T062712Z there is no English dictionary
enabled and no warning to the user that spell checking is not performing a
thorough check. If a user performs a check they receive: "spell check is
complete," making one think that all the spelling is right.

Looking at the package the following files are delivered for dictionaries:
opt/openoffice.org/basis3.1/share/wordbook/en-US/soffice.dic
opt/openoffice.org/basis3.1/share/wordbook/en-US/sun.dic

This is a rather glaring problem for adoption since users may not notice this
and will end up thinking their document has no errors when it may.

A workaround is to install a user specific dictionary by going to:
http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/dictionary and opening any downloaded
dictionary with /bin/soffice and following the installation prompts.
