It is Apple Macintosh specific as no other computer has a Command/Apple/⌘
button.

As mentioned, the keyboard shortcut works properly in TextEdit. It also works in
Firefox 3.0.13, TeXShop 2.26, and Terminal 2.1 (272), for example.

Steps to reproduce.
 - Create a new document.
 - Type "ABCD" into the document.
 - Save the document by clicking File->Save.
 * All text in the "Save As:" field is selected by default.
 - Deselect the text by clicking inside the file name box.
 - Press Cmd-A.
 * Observe that, whilst the Edit menu flashes, the text is not selected.

The *correct* behaviour is for the text to be selected.

There is no Tools->Options menu item on Mac, the OpenOffice.org->Preferences...
menu item is the equivalent.

The checkbox was not checked. If I check the check-box, the correct behaviour is
observed, but the dialog box is no longer the Mac OS X native one; the look and
feel is wrong.
