------- Additional comments from [email protected] Sun Oct 4 11:25:07 +0000 2009 ------- Hi Nadav, All localized text in OOo is stored in UTF-8, as you can see by checking any of the "localize.sdf" files in the source tree. So I guessed, admittedly without looking at the code, that OOo took time to convert the dictionary to UTF-8 each time it was loaded. After I converted the dictionary and noticed that there was a sixfold increase in speed of loading, and I received similar reports from other users, one of whom found a tenfold increase, that was good enough for me to submit the UTF-8 dictionary to the OOo Issue Tracker. Regarding size, I don't remember the exact amount, but I think that the UTF-8 dictionary is about 50%-75% larger than than the ISO-8859-8 dictionary. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
