Today, all my images in a document got wiped during the following procedure:

-Document was open
-started installing the following open office extensions:

openclipart-openoffice.org (0.18+dfsg-8)
openclipart-png (0.18+dfsg-8)
openoffice.org-help-de (1:3.1.1-4ubuntu1)
openoffice.org-hyphenation-de (1:3.0.1-8ubuntu1)
openoffice.org-l10n-common (1:3.1.1-4ubuntu1)
openoffice.org-l10n-de (1:3.1.1-4ubuntu1)
openoffice.org-pdfimport (1.0+OOo3.1.1-5ubuntu1)
openoffice.org-thesaurus-de (20080808-1ubuntu2)

-continued to work on document
-got error message about OO open and needing to be closed
-SAVED document, closed OO
-finished installation
-re-openend OO, installed the following extensions:

openoffice.org-style-andromeda (1:3.1.1-5ubuntu1)
openoffice.org-style-crystal (1:3.1.1-5ubuntu1)
openoffice.org-style-oxygen (1:3.1.1-5ubuntu1)
openoffice.org-style-tango (1:3.1.1-5ubuntu1)

-tried out some themes
-re-opened document -> ALL images in document LOST

Comment:

In addition to most unpleasant experiences with OO's unreliability regarding
graphical content in documents in the past (e.g. see Issue 68143), among other
long-known nasty issues, I'm almost down to buying and using a new version of
MS-Office now.

No offense, but I'm really in serious doubt of advising friends to use OO by
now, which I constantly used to do, and I also can't wait years for serious bugs
to get fixed.

Worst of all: I can't trust OO not to scrap important documents, unless EVERY
SINGLE procedure is verified manually!
