No, it does not break anything, it looks better if you additionally install KDE3
libs (which won't be the default but at least gives the user the opportunity as
the default plugin looks rather dull and grey). Moreover if both KDE plugins
cannot be loaded the gtk plugin is tried now (which can be loaded on most
systems and also looks better than the generic plugin).

And yes, there is a differentiation between KDE4 and KDE3.
