------- Additional comments from [email protected] Tue Dec 29 08:50:26 +0000 2009 ------- I have been editing my CV in .doc format (97/2003/XP setting) in OpenOffice Writer 3.1.1 and I noticed some huge change in formatting by simply opening this file in OpenOffice Writer 3.1.1 under OSX Snow Leopard and then viewing it again on Windows's OpenOffice Writer 3.1.1. I have a dual boot set-up on this MacBook Pro (Windows 7 and OS X, but I am using the same OpenOffice release on both, 3.1.1, downloaded from OpenOffice.org's site). When I open this .doc file under Windows again, the document occupies 3 pages, the same text needs much wider margins to fit in the same 2 pages as before. If I open the same .doc file under OS X again, the document uses the same formatting as before fitting in the same 2 pages it used too, as if nothing changes. In short: the same .doc file, opened in same OpenOffice Writer release (3.1.1), is now opened very differently in OpenOffice under Windows compared to OpenOffice under OSX. The change in formatting happened when I edited and saved the .doc file in OpenOffice Writer on OS X. I will try to save the file in .odt and see if Windows can read it correctly (under OpenOffice). --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
