I have already tried the "rename the OpenOffice.org directory in the Application
Data area" with no success...I have just completed another complete uninstall
(including deleting the Application Data & Program Files directory tree's),
rebooted and installed the latest 3.2.0 for Windows XP W/O JRE. During install
another window popped up to indicate that a file was locked during writing (I
believe it was in the OpenOffice.org 3\basis\share directory structure...
If there is a locking problem during installation, that pretty much points back
to the installation itself especially if it's having a problem with a directory
& file structure it just created!
Again, I am having the same problem I had before with the user interface
language:
OpenOffice.org 3.2 - Fatal Error
The application cannot be started.
The user interface language cannot be determined.
Now, give me something new OTHER THAN renaming my profile directory or other
such nonsense. Can you even tell me EXACTLY what the error message means?
Again, this is a completely clean install of the latest 3.2.0 w/o JRE downloaded
from your site and was performed after a reboot and prior to starting any other
applications other than the auto start ones.
And yes, I've already tried the JRE version...same results. I have also removed
all Java versions from my system and installed the latest
(jre-6u18-windows-i586-s.exe) rebooted and repeat...same, same,
same...Installation errors during the 3.2 install and fatal errors trying to
start it.
