Yes. This is exactly my worry; I don't want to mix versions. So now it seems we
have kind of come full circle in this bug report. I have been aiming as
explicitly as I possibly can to *not* mix versions of oo.org from the time
before even submitting this report. I believe that explanations in this bug
report demonstrate my attempts to avoid mixing these versions (3.1 with 3.2).
This bug report was initially driven by the fact that I downloaded the SRB
*extension* (version 1.2.0) from your site because its page *explicitly* says it
is for version 3.2 or higher:

http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/project/reportdesign

But this extension doesn't load in my installed version of 3.2 via the
extensions manager. I outlined this failure explicitly from the start of this
bug report in great detail (I typed the error dialog text by hand because this
bug reporting system-- a rather nice system I might add-- doesn't seem to have
an attachments link to upload the png of this error box). I installed this 3.2
version of oo.org via these packages (I found this link originally on my own,
but then you sent there again in this bug report and confirmed I have been doing
what I am supposed to be doing):

http://download.services.openoffice.org/files/stable/3.2.0/OOo_3.2.0_LinuxIntel_install_en-US_deb.tar.gz

I installed these deb packages *only after* having removed all vestiges of
oo.org 3.1 with the apt-get remove command (and verifying this). I also removed
entirely the .openoffice.org folder in my home folder. I have aimed for a
from-scratch install of 3.2.

I have followed the instructions you have provided me explicitly in this bug
report and yet I am left *still* with two problems:

******* Problem Restated Again ****************
1) How do I install SRB 1.2.0 for oo.org 3.2 and above on the installed version
of oo.org if I can't install it with Aptitude (Synaptic essentially) and it
won't install via the extensions manager of oo.org 3.2? Is there a .deb package
for it that is missing which would solve this problem? If not, should there be?

2) After following all your instructions in this bug report, none of the wizards
in Base still work. This is the case even though I have the Sun JRE installed on
my system (installed by aptitude on Ubuntu) which shows JRE 6 in aptitude and
shows as version 1.6.0_15 under the Tools>Options>Openoffice.org>Java page.

Maybe you need to escalate this issue. I have done my best to articulately
describe in detail my exact configuration and the explicit problem I am having
in this bug report, but I am not certain you are completely following my
explanation.

Something obvious is missing here and the right person reviewing this bug report
will see it right away. Either I have done something really stupid, or I have
found a bug. As of yet, nobody in this bug report has told me to do something
that I haven't done, and yet nothing has changed. I am more than happy to accept
that I am making a mistake, but you guys haven't pointed me to one yet. I have
done everything you have told me to do to no avail.

Please escalate this if you can. Thanks.

Again, to restate, no wizards work in Base in my configuration. This includes
the reporting wizard (which from 3.2 and above I assume is always Sun Report
Builder) but also includes the Table, Query, and Form Wizards.

Thanks for your efforts. They are appreciated. You have a great product and I am
doing my best to help it achieve success. I am putting it to work, which is why
I have found this issue. I need your help to iron out these last details, and
then I think it is going to work reasonably well. So far, other aspects of Base
seem to be working reasonably well in 3.2 and I am pleased.
