Custom title styles "mytitle1" and "mytitle2", used with custom numbering styles "MyNumberingScheme" have been used to show the problem. Standard styles "title1" and "title2" with basic numbering scheme do not have the problem. In fact the bug is clearly that the "hierarchical level" of the custom style is NOT applied to a paragraph when one applies the custom style to that said paragraph.
