To my knowledge "-quickstart" never did anything on Linux and I think it still
doesn't.
We removed it from the help (issue 36018) what IMHO is correct because it is not
supported on that platform.
Maybe in older versions "-quickstart" suppressed splash screen and default
document, and maybe it doesn't do that now.
You can try if it still works, otherwise you could try "-nologo -nodefault".
I would consider this as the better solution because "-quickstart" on Linux is
undocumented.
