Multiple Word 2003 documents opened from a memory stick on a patched XP SP3
machine. edited and saved on OO Writer 3.2 When attempting to re-open, took a
long time and got dialogue saying "general error" General input/output error"
and an "OK" button. On oprning again contents are corrupt, repeated segments of
old text form other documents and blocks of non-standard characters. found
corruption. on some documents the character set selection/conversion dialogue
opens but the document is non the less corrupt. sadly no backups of original
documents.

can upload examples of corrupt files.
