Reopening bug. I must not have been clear when I opened the bug. This isn't an
issue of a setting being wrong. You open a brand new label, enter text into
them, and leave all of the settings on the defaults and simply hit Print and OOo
is printing them always in position zero all the way to the left margin.
The GUI has the right settings, but doesn't use them. I have found a pattern
that I think might be related to this bug. It proves that incorrect settings
are being stored somewhere, and forcing left margin of zero to be used. No
matter which Avery Letter Size label template is used, they always start from
position which on a laser printer cannot be used and is chopped off slightly.
The PDF that I attached is an unaltered 5160 sent to the printer.
I'm attaching a movie for you to see the GUI losing the left margin, which might
indicate where this issue is coming from.
To recreate my movie:
_ Open Writer
- Select File-->New-->Label
- Pick Avery Letter Size, 5160
- Click into the [Format] tab and settings are correct for this label
- Click on [New Document] and empty template displays.
- Cancel out of that one.
- Pick File-->New-->Label again
- OOo remembers that you had the [Format] tab raised and dialog opens again
- Avery Letter Size / 5160 Address is remembered from the last time as well
- Note, Left Margin is 0.0 in the GUI. (I circled them with mouse)
No amount of flipping into the fields or trying different techniques allows
these templates to print correctly on US Letter.
Attaching movie.
