Okanogan (a language belonging to the Salish family) was spoken in interior British Columbia and Washinton. Speakers of the language are still around, and live on reserves in British Columbia and Washington. It was never spoken, so far as we know, in Oregon. cous is pronounced "cows," and was so written by some early writers. Allan Taylor
