Fran, the name okanaganense indicates that the plant grows in a place called Okanagan.
I know nothing about the distribution of Talinum okanaganense, so someone better informed will have to confirm that it does or does not grow at Lake Okanagan. But I'll bet you were right all along, Fran. Spelling alert! The word talinum is neuter, and the suffix -ense is the neuter form of that suffix. Phemeranthus is masculine, so if you call the plant Phemeranthus, it should be Ph. okanaganensis (not -ense). Jim McKenney
