My understanding is that snow builds Character. (It's too late for me.) When I was young, I was told constantly that shoveling the stuff built character. Practically the first thing my parents did when we moved to Denver in 1961 was buy me a pair of ice skates and a sled. They may as well have bought me a particle accelerator for all the good these things did. I tried the sled once and it never moved. It was pointing downhill but there wasn't enough snow for it to work. Tried the ice skates a few times until I realized, even at that young age, that crawling across an ice-covered pond on my hands and knees was fairly undignified.
