In my view, this isn't an all-or-nothing thing. Just because one doesn't have all of the latest and the greatest bells and whistles....it doesn't make them "non-tech". I pay extra for a high-speed connection and the photos still "hung" for a while. If properly edited, the quality of pictures is still fine, even when the image file size is ~well under 100k. Alpenpix has the advantage of being a repository for Alpine-L pictures. Again, just my own opinion, but I liked the rock picture and think that habitat photos are valuable.
