A Chicago man asked me for help building a rock garden in what sounds like a pretty shady back yard where grass won't grow. I suggested woodland plants in raised beds. I just returned home today to a riot of Corydalis solida hybrids in bright red (that's Latvian Zwanenberg), light red (its seedlings?), pink, purple and white, so I recommended that to him. But he is also looking for a professional rock garden landscape designer/builder. Any suggestions. Also, a few years ago there was a wonderful talk by a man in Chicago who had a marvellous rock garden in a challenging setting. Is he still there and can my correspondent contact him?
