I just sowed astragalus seed today. If it’s true that astragalus seeds emit allelopathic chemicals to inhibit germination of other seeds of their own species, this has got to be the dumbest survival strategy in the plant kingdom. What if the seedling that germinates first poisons all the rest of the seed and then dies?
