Hello Beth, We used to live in Billings, and if you've never been on the Beartooth Highway, you'll find it is The Place to see mountains and alpine plants. There are plenty of roadside places to stop. You can just wander a bit in the meadows. The top is above timberline--truly alpine tundra. Have a wonderful time!
